SynCat Event 2025: Paintball, Salame & Beers

Before heading off for the summer holidays, our group decided it was time to take a well-earned break from lab life. So we geared up—not with lab coats and goggles, but with helmets and paintball guns—for an afternoon of strategic ambushes, colorful hits, and a whole lot of laughter.
The paintball field quickly became a battlefield of science-fueled rivalry. Some of us channeled our inner action heroes, while others preferred the “hide and hope” strategy. Either way, everyone ended up with stories (and bruises) to show for it.

After the paintball madness, we were more than ready to refuel. We headed to a local restaurant to recover with a feast of salame and torta fritta—the kind of comfort food that makes you forget you were crawling through mud just an hour earlier. Pro tip: torta fritta makes an excellent post-paintball recovery snack.

But the day wasn’t over yet.
To wrap things up, we made our way to the shores of the river Enza, where we kicked back with a cold beer, good conversation, and the peaceful sound of water flowing by. No experiments, no meetings—just a perfect summer vibe.

A huge thanks to everyone who joined and helped make it a day to remember. Now it's time to enjoy the break, recharge, and come back refreshed. Happy summer from all of us!
